Specialized Formulations for Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals

The EMULCOR series addresses the distinct requirements of ferrous and non-ferrous machining, with formulations designed to support lubrication, corrosion protection, and fluid stability.

EMULCOR PBC is a chlorine-free, nitrite-free, and phenol-free additive package developed for ferrous metal applications. It is suitable for cast iron machining, heavy-duty machining of carbon steel, and mixed-metal machining systems, supporting reliable lubrication, rust protection, and sump stability.

EMULCOR NBC is a boron-free additive package developed for non-ferrous metals. Its pH-buffering and anti-staining technologies help reduce the risk of discoloration and pitting on sensitive materials, including aluminum alloys and brass used in aerospace and automotive components.

Both products use high-purity, European-sourced sodium petroleum sulfonate (SPS) as a key ingredient to support emulsion stability in hard-water conditions. Their microemulsion formulations are designed to promote the separation of tramp oil, including way lubricants entering the system, helping maintain fluid performance and extend service life.

Practical Fluid Management for the Shop Floor

Alongside its products, ShuohTay will share practical experience in managing metalworking fluids throughout their service life.

Common challenges—including sump odor, tramp oil contamination, unstable emulsions in hard water, and staining on non-ferrous surfaces—require both appropriate fluid selection and ongoing maintenance. ShuohTay helps manufacturers assess their materials, processes, and equipment, then provides guidance on fluid selection, concentration monitoring, pH control, and sump maintenance.

This approach helps manufacturers maintain consistent machining quality, extend fluid life, and reduce costs associated with fluid changes, rejected parts, and unplanned downtime.
