The most frequently discussed topic at the exhibition was how to put the Factory Renewal Program into practice on existing production lines. Factory upgrades can begin with a review of the equipment and resources already in use, identifying factors that affect machining quality, operating efficiency and service life, then making improvements according to each plant's needs. This is the purpose behind the six companies exhibiting together: combining complementary expertise so that improvements can start with a specific problem or a manageable upgrade, helping manufacturers find the right direction for their operations. For ShuohTay, fluid selection and routine maintenance are an essential part of that process. Selecting the right fluids and managing them properly helps existing equipment and fluids deliver the performance they were designed for.

These conversations reinforced a lesson from ShuohTay's long experience in the field: many machining issues are linked to fluid selection and ongoing management, rather than to the equipment or fluid formulation alone.

ShuohTay's Capabilities in Integrated Fluid Management

Select the Right Fluid | Selection is based on the workpiece material, tooling, machine and machining process. Drawing on more than three decades of technical and field experience since 1990, ShuohTay offers metalworking fluids, industrial lubricants, rust preventives and food-grade white oils. Development continues in advanced materials and demanding machining applications for aerospace, medical, drone and precision manufacturing. Magnesium alloy machining in the drone industry is one example: as material purity requirements rise, conventional cutting fluids can be prone to rapid oxidation and loss of performance. ShuohTay works with European and US brands to refine formulations and progressively address these challenges.

Manage Fluid Condition | Routine monitoring and maintenance guidance cover concentration, pH, microbial control and fluid service life. This turns fluid management from a practice based largely on individual experience into a set of process parameters that can be tracked, handed over between operators and reviewed during audits.

Compliant Waste Oil Collection | Waste oil is collected and transported in accordance with applicable regulations, sent for proper treatment and accompanied by complete supporting documentation. This completes the fluid management cycle and provides essential records for customers responding to audits and supply chain requirements.

Ongoing Support | Documented records and regular follow-up help sustain the results of fluid management and keep existing equipment operating reliably. For ShuohTay, circularity includes extending the useful life and value of existing resources, alongside the responsible handling of waste oil.

Reducing Carbon Emissions One Drop at a Time

ShuohTay has completed an internal greenhouse gas inventory in accordance with ISO 14064-1 and continues to evaluate product carbon footprint assessment under ISO 14067. From a carbon accounting perspective, importing highly concentrated additives and blending locally reduces the weight and volume transported overseas, helping lower supply chain emissions at the source. In production, formulations with effective microbial control help extend fluid service life and reduce the frequency of fluid changes, in turn reducing the energy associated with waste oil treatment. Plant-based formulations are also being aligned with EU REACH requirements. For export-oriented manufacturers responding to the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), fluid selection can form part of the actions documented in their carbon reporting. Sustainable manufacturing was a central theme of ASLE and remains a long-term priority for ShuohTay and its customers.
